I have always had an intense interest in the things that surrounded me. I was encouraged from a very young age to look more closely and to develop my sense of awareness. Not merely at how light and color bounces off of one type of object or how they seem to be absorbed into another type object, but how things are put together and how they interact. Growing up I was always encouraged to stretch to reach that which, on the surface, looks unobtainable. I approach my art in such a manner. I began with the figure, working through the intricacies of form, shape, light and line. Then I worked with color and movement. Later my fascination extended to these same elements in nature.
