A New Family Circus

These works focus on a family of Freak Show entertainers, entitled Family Circus. Together, these paintings are formal portraits of two or three family members. The Siamese twins are modeled after the artist’s own mother and aunt, and the long necked woman is a loosely based self-portrait. They collectively suggest that freak shows are a familiar, familial experience…for the artist, at least.
