Joyce Lau’s fascination
with iconography and curiosity with everyday objects resonates through
her artwork and in the diversity of her mediums. In her current work,
Lau utilizes a fine blade to bring forth those prominent images in our
collective memories from a vast range of decorative papers.Each detail that is extracted from the paper creates a void that unveils a blackened background. Inspired by that hollowness, Lau decided to focus her cut-outs on voids of the human heart.
