Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street, Stand 50
May 4 – 8, 2018
Sean Kelly at TEFAF New York, with selection of works central themes of the De Stijl movement. The principles of Neoplasticism or De Stijl, reflect Mondrian’s decision to limit his formal vocabulary to the three primary colors, three primary values, and two primary directions. Sean Kelly is anchored by Joseph Kosuth’s ‘Mondrian’s Work XII’, 2016, which is inspired by the modern Dutch master’s theoretical writings. Each of the works included on the stand reflects the themes Kosuth and Mondrian address in their own words. The presentation will also feature significant historical works by Brazilian artist Sergio Camargo and Cuban artist Loló Soldevilla, alongside carefully selected works by James Casebere, Jose Dávila, Antony Gormley, and Callum Innes.
