Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Harry C. Doolittle was a
copywriter/creative director at some of America’s leading ad agencies.
He began painting in the 60s and had his first show in 1978 in
Evansville, IN. The exhibit, featuring 20 works, sold out, giving him
confidence to continue with his painting. There are several aspects to his paintings that differentiate them from other works of contemporary art. Primarily, the artist’s use of acrylic colors painted on and underneath glass combined with brass and aluminum leaf applied in each painting.
