These works comprise a series of 30 portraits that show the social, political and cultural climate of Mexico, especially the state of Michoacan, from a local point of view.

Each work employs the conversations, stories, tales and stories told by people I meet everyday in the street, sidewalks, squares, cafes, taquerias, diners, supermarkets, etc. Based on figurative symbolism, I seek to represent today’s political-cultural contexts, and media that we live with in our land, which triggers our fears, frustrations and our hopes and desires, as a city, as state and nation.
