I have a strong passion for geometrical relations in general. This sculpture however is a representation of the head of Medusa, who was punished with hair of snakes by jealous goddess Athena when Pagan god Poseidon had fallen in love with her. Turned upside down it carries a column base in a Christian building of Byzantian Istanbul. This ironic relation of the two cultures is a subject to my stool, carrying modern human in it and associated with humanity. It is one of the pieces that will be exhibited at Broadway Gallery in New York between May 1-15, 2006.
