A critic and curator as well as a painter, Joe Fyfe was heralded as an iconoclast for organizing a show of forgotten French Abstractionists last year. Now with his own show, Fyfe combines his paintings, sculptures, and photographs with materials such as muslin, felt, or burlap, creating dynamic and multi-dimensional pieces. Fyfe’s works document his experiences traveling to Bangladesh, Phnom Penh, and Vietnam, and the fabrics he uses as part of his installations are pieces he originally found abroad.
