“All of my work is primarily about the process.” Veronica Bruce grew up in a southwest suburb of Chicago and has lived there since 2005, creating sculptures and installations that grew from her paintings and photography. She has since developed a type of artwork that she calls photo paintings. Veronica’s photo paintings begin with a single photo and grow as she she applies multiple layers of paint and photo paper to the photograph, exposing areas of the process in the completed work.
