For as long as I can remember, I wanted to paint pictures.

I spent many hours sketching as a child and when my schoolmates called
to invite me to join them in their games and recreation, I usually made
excuses and preferred to draw and paint.
    Realizing this was not
healthy if carried to extremes, my parents insisted I find other
interests as well.  Both my late parents were pianists.   My mother was
a classical pianist and my father played Jazz, Rag Time and Swing.  I
    studied piano for many years.

I was trained in the fifties and
sixties by the late George Collie, RHA and later I was tutored by the
renowned Irish Art Master -Thomas Ryan, PPRHA, hon RA, hon RSA.

    I
paint in the Realistic Representational art form, mainly in oils and
sometimes in acrylics, pastels and charcoal. I enjoy painting
portraits, landscapes, seascapes, lighthouses, architectural subjects,
animals and wildlife.  I also paint floral subjects and still life.   I
draw and paint figurative life studies and human anatomical drawings.

I hope you enjoy my work.
