Where has the French salon of the 18th century gone in our 21st century media-driven New York youth culture?

Fresh, self-styled patroness Sally Golan provided an answer at last week’s “Dive into a Dream” party at the Grace Hotel. Mademoiselle Golan threw 400 guests in a pool surrounded by surrealist photography, collages, performances, paintings, and even a LED balloon installation. Plus alcohol and pretty young things.

“Envision this as if Salvador Dali were to throw a pool party in France,” Golan said. “I wanted people to swim through a fusion of magic and enchantment.”

Social Exposure Media, Golan’s company, crafted the environment with artists Ryan V. Brennan, Nick Hayes, Katerina Gubina, Sarah Charness, and Todd Monaghan and performers Sarah Charness and DJ Heather M. To boot, an abundance of Voli Vodka and 200 vibrators from Babeland.

Would the grandes dames approve? Probably not. But no protests here!
