• The Cult of Youth: How Young Artists Are Shaping a New Art World

    T.A.G. (Teen Art Gallery) is an organization run by teens for teens, devoted to displaying works by artists ages 12-19 in galleries. Its founder and curator, Audrey Banks, is eighteen years old and a senior in high school. Their first show opened in July, 2011 at the Open Center in New York City and was featured in several publications such as the New York Times, New York Magazine, Paper, and the Huffington Post.  Soon thereafter, youths outside of the U.S. joined  the organization. T.A.G. Germany and T.A.G. Florence opened in August 2011.

    T.A.G. (Teen Art Gallery) is an organization run by teens for teens, devoted to displaying works by artists ages 12-19 in galleries. Its founder and curator, Audrey Banks, is eighteen years old and a senior in high school. Their first show opened in July, 2011 at the Open Center in New York City and was featured in several publications such as the New York Times, New York Magazine, Paper, and the Huffington Post.  Soon thereafter, youths outside of the U.S. joined  the organization. T.A.G. Germany and T.A.G. Florence opened in August 2011. T.A.G., now an international organization, is working on their second show opening in Chelsea, NYC.

    Their next show opens on March 29th, 2012 from 6pm-10pm at the Rogue Gallery in Chelsea in collaboration with Unseen Artists. The show features forty of America’s most talented and dedicated young artists, carefully selected from a pool of two thousand applicants. With the theme “Think Spring,” expect to find a mash of nudes and warmly colored photographs, as well as sculpture, film, music, installation, and performance art. The event is a one-night exhibition for charity. Proceeds go to NYC Kids ARTS Organization. Tickets can be purchased at www.unseenartists.com.
