With the changes in nature and as with the stages in life there is a definite order, but within them there is still leeway for moving rather freely. In music there is a definite gamut of tones that we can use to create very different melodies and musical styles. Within painting we also have only a limited number of tones of color (three) that we can mix and match according to our ability, inclinations, and taste.
When I complete my work with a painting, then it is your turn to take over the work of digesting it. Together we can carry on to the extent that a painting can ever be finished.
