For six and a half years, TAG art gallery has been offering Music City a taste of what’s going on in the art world at large. TAG quickly made its mark as the place to go for contemporary art in Nashville, whether it’s in terms of collecting or just in terms of viewing. Since moving into our new downtown location in August 2006, other hip young galleries have followed suit, making TAG the anchor of this downtown art destination. Even in the cold winter months, TAG and the other Fifth Avenue galleries have pulled in as many as 1000 people for their First Saturday Art Crawls each month.

TAG’s focus has been to turn emerging collectors on to emerging artists who are being recognized on a national level. Artists like Chris Scarborough, Josh Keyes, Lori Field, Michael Krueger and John Casey are selling well in other major art cities, and they are also very much taking off with Nashvillian collectors themselves.

TAG’s slick, Chelsea-like, white walled gallery space is a breath of fresh air for the downtown Nashville area. Its modern look is even inspiring to other businesses who are currently moving downtown in order to catch the ferver of urban renewal and the downtown residential boom, now in full swing. Additionally too, TAG has been branching out to other cities by exhibiting in art fairs around the country like Art Chicago and The Affordable Art Fair in New York City.
