Salon Veron, currated and directed by Monika Burian Jouran, claims to be a “different type” of the salon. Well, a salon that teleports you to the 1900’s in an entirely unique experience is different for sure. With eight Czech and Slovak artists partnering up eight foreign artists, the gallery becomes a bustling platform of ideas and connections. The exhibition emulates the concept of a Parisian art salon by bring artists together and making borders less visible.

Curator Burian Jourdan reflects: “The concept after famous Parisian art salons in fact makes the original vision of the Gallery happen in reality. From the very beginning, we have been trying to put together Czech and world art side by side as equal partners, and looking for links between artists who may never have met personally and yet have something in common.”

Salon Vernon will be open until March 3, 2013 at The Vernon Gallery in Prague.

Featuring Andrea Bianconi, Andreas Kopp, Andreas Holzknecht, Daniel González, Giuliana Cunéaz, Jana Farmanová, Kit Reisch, Linda Čihařová, Lluís Lleó, Michal Škoda, Jan Mikulka, Petra Gupta-Valentová, Petra Polifková, Robert Šafarčík, Simone Fugazzotto, and Tomáš Lahoda.
