Established in 1979, The Robert Koch Gallery has exhibited and offered a wide range of museum quality photography that spans the history of the medium from the 19th century to the present. Its extensive inventory emphasizes Modernist and experimental work from the 1920s and 1930s, 19th century and contemporary photography. From inception, its mission has been to help define and participate in the evolving understanding of the history of photography.
The Robert Koch Gallery is located on Geary Street in the heart of San Francisco’s downtown Union Square.
