This work is as much about the process of painting and drawing as it is
about the subject matter represented.  As I draw from my environment
and imagination to actualize images, I am internalizing external
stimuli, filtering them through my brain (thus through every affective
experience) and regurgitating them using lines, shapes, patterns, and
cut forms. The characters that I create in these images express that regurgitation of external stimuli through their distortions and layers.  They physically manifest their internal psychology – so rather than filtering for creative expression, they filter via mutation.  And the paintings represent a glimpse into that active process; they are still yet have implicit movement.
