Martin Roth Named Director of London’s Victoria and Albert Museum
Catherine Hickley reports in Bloomberg that London’s Victoria and Albert Museum has announced that Martin Roth will begin as the institution’s director starting September 1. Roth currently serves as the director general of the Dresden State Art Collections, where he supervised the renovation of the sixteenth-century Albertinum after flood damage, as well as the reopening of the Historic Green Vault treasure chamber. He also spearheaded “The Art of the Enlightenment,” an exhibition presented in concert with the Munich and Berlin art collections, on view for a year at the newly constructed National Museum of China in Beijing.
