    My
experiments in video and photography responded to a series of visits
that I did to the sugar factories throughout all of Puerto Rico in the
year 2002. Those off spaces, according to the French Anthropologist
Marc Augé, are lost of the collective memory, lost in our files, lack
of life and without a surprise are residues of boiling Industrial era.
These spaces are places that invite me to initiate a new conversation
with a contemporary point of view that deals with the theme of the
residue and excesses, between the homogenous and heterogenic things.
These spaces and off spaces are two false polarities. They are
palimpsests in which the aspects of the place identity are rewritten
one time and another. These places are transformed in charged spaces of
the history effects. For this reason, I took these spaces to make a
reflection and anesthetize this forgotten site.  These spaces become
habitable spaces from non-habitable spaces parting from the point of
    view of the residue.
