Vanmechelen has lived in the south of Ireland since the age of six.
Within her works we see ambiguous forms that remind us of things we see
in nature as her pictorial language expresses sentiment without
reference to immediately recognizable subject matter. Each painting is
truly personal and yet open to interpretation. She explores the realms
of instinctual, subconscious, and life experiences.
