    Born Manfredonia, Matteo Paolantonio is now based in Florence where he attended the Accademia di Belle Arti achieving the Diploma in Painting.  In 1994 he began teaching ‘Shape and Color” classes in the laboratory of experimental graphics in the City of Montecatini Terme. In 1995 he was appointed professor of drawing and painting at the Laboratory of Figurative Arts where he taught until 2002. In 1996 Paolantonio returned to education in order to perfect his technique. He has worked as coordinator of the ‘Seminars d’après the Masters of the twentieth century’, at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Palazzo Pitti, from 1996 to 2004. Paolantonio has been a professor of Discipline Paintings at the State Institute of Art and Design Sesto Fiorentino since. He collaborated with illustrations of the book Angels in timbuctu di Umberto Cecchi in 1999. He has exhibited in numerous shows and exhibitions in Italy and abroad and his works are in various private collections. He lives and works in Valdarno, a Reggello.
