MAD DREAM CHAMBER
By Jamie Dalglish
Ishmael Randall Weeks, All too Familiar – Installation @ MATCH, artspace – October 2004
Bearing faggots of channeled
cherry branches checked deep red
surfing on feet of clay
steel wheels carry naturally
the vertical levitation
of Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony
Each solo instrument plays
stochastic trills of druid polymorphism
harmonic trilling like trapeze artists
pinning, themselves
against death/inside out is
creeping to the aleatory fire in our soul
Another soul is still and hung still
the carved cauterized sticks waxed white
over ashen surfaces
stick out of my dream
waving tentacles in hand four fingers
the quartra foil of the Andes region
cocked and notched sliding forward without sliding down
while the bulbous white soul awakens
ready to work again without falling
all possibilities of continuing gone
except the force of vision, still considered a sport of perfection
