Lola Badman lives in Hamilton, New Zealand, and is the recipient of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts Award for Landscape Painting (1985). In her semi-abstract works, she finds the geometrical aspect of design satisfying and challenging; she enjoys the interplay of structure, colour, line and form, sometimes using the mosaic as a basis for style. Lola has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in New Zealand and Sydney, Australia; including a group exhibition to Wuxi, Jiangsu province of China in 1991. Her paintings form part of public and private collections in New Zealand, USA and Jamaica. In September, 2008, she will exhibit in a group show in London, UK, at the Brick Lane Gallery September 24 – October 20.
