A Visionary Painter
Lis Engel
I am autodidact as a painter but have surveyed Denmark, England, France and U.S.A. I paint in acrylic and oil. My style is expressive, poetic, and imaginative connecting the figurative and the abstract in dreamlike visions. The inspiration comes from many varied sources, e.g. poetry, music, nature, meditations, dreams, myths, and fairy tales. I am especially interested in art as a multidimensional language inviting us to open into the poetics of the now. Since 1992, I have made several solo and group exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden and France.
