This is a series of self-portraits with my family members, a project I have been working on for a couple of years. With this series, I want to express love, unity and self-awareness through the bridging of generations. We live in a fast-evolving time, and I find it very important to always remember our past—where we come from—and to honor the reasons we are here and the people who came before us.Of course the process of recreating one’s relationships for the camera is a source of great fun and bonding. |

Like Mother, Like Daughter – Natasha Papadopoulou

This is a series of self-portraits with my family members, a project I have been working on for a couple of years. With this series, I want to express love, unity and self-awareness through the bridging of generations. We live in a fast-evolving time, and I find it very important to always remember our past—where we come from—and to honor the reasons we are here and the people who came before us.
Of course the process of recreating one’s relationships for the camera is a source of great fun and bonding. Using my family and myself as subject matter allows me to choose which similarities or differences in personalities, lifestyles and appearances to play with. Furthermore, the series has allowed me to include these special people as a part of my work and to have them experience my way of life for a day. The experience itself brings us closer.
