    The Archeology of Truth

    Liisa Pajula-Mäkinen

The story of these paintings are presented by symbols and is based on the Finnish saga Kalevala, and experiences in my life. History and archeology are very close to my heart (In the past, I studied history and archeology at Helsinki University). With these paintings, I raise the question about the moment, the past, and eternity. Child symbols in my paintings are archetypes of mine. Goodness and truth, peace and light, these are the feelings I want to get into my paintings. I always use old technologies (multilayer painting) and traditional tools in order to find out the historical aspects of the art.
