This series is an expression of heraldry in the path of a single year in a single life. Symbols juxtaposed on a banner as a shield give rise to a questioning of relationships. What story do the symbols tell or do they tell one at all ? This is for the viewer to decide. Perhaps part of your own life’s heraldry is contained within these often oblique symbols. The banner format draws lines of comparison between modes of thinking and existence, between light and dark, motion and stillness, between nature and object. The narrative becomes poetry and vice versa. Contrast, and contradiction, peace and harmony, all elements of the banner expression.
