"Fossil Crusader" The last cowboy of the old west jousts with a nuclear
dragon. My art is about the dreams and nightmares of middle America.
I am a self-taught artist from the Mississippi Delta, and I consider
myself to be working in the tradition of the evangelical southern folk
artist in a fight against fundamentalism and corporate control of the
media and government. However, not all of my art is deliberate
agit-prop or narrative. Increasingly I am letting my work take a more visionary direction, which is really all I ever wanted to do.
