    In Andalusia, Spain where I spent June, the sun stampedes across the desert floor and the rabbit sees itself everywhere in the cactus.

    “In Andalusia, Spain where I spent June, the sun stampedes across the desert floor and the rabbit sees itself everywhere in the cactus. Narcissus! The mountain Mojacar, “La Vieja”, site of an ancient Moorish settlement, shed its light and shadow upon my studio at its foot. Often I begin paintings with the bone-dry earth that I mixed with spit and the moisture of my hands — an acknowledgement of all who preceded me, including those whose drawings grace the caves of Spain.”
