I am making videos
that occur in a physical space and interact with painting.
Thematically, I deal with several large issues that are currently
facing civilization. During this age of telecommunications, the exact
difference between reality and representation is no longer discernable.
Reality television/instant news paradoxically result in lessening the
relations between humans and their environment. We live inside a kind
of psychological space – a non-space – with little concern for physical
realities or the sustenance nature provides us.From
my perspective, civilization has already passed its apex and has begun
the process of decline. Being a witness to decline amidst a seemingly
endless flow of information technology provides artists with unique
opportunities to document this collapse.
