Jason Burch has been a studio assistant to artist William Wegman for
the past 12 years. In his own work, Burch investigates the fraught,
constantly evolving relationship between human beings, the artificial
surroundings they create for themselves, and the ‘natural’ environment.
Instead of taking a dogmatic stand on the matter, Burch calls attention
to the uncertainty, the gravity, and, oftentimes, the comedy of man’s
interaction with the receding tree line.
