    Van Gogh’s Sketchbook?

A small sketchbook believed to have belonged to Vincent van Gogh has
surfaced in Athens, Greece. The book contains intricate drawings of
figures from The Potato Eaters and Portrait of Pere Tanguy. Doreta
Peppa, the daughter of a Greek resistance fighter, has been trying to
authenticate the book since she found it in her basement two years ago.
It is believed to have been looted by Nazis during their occupation of
Greece in World War II. A letter Peppa’s father left with the book says
that resistance fighters seized it from the Nazis as they left Athens
    in 1944. (Artinfo, January 4, 2008) www.artinfo.com
