I find inspiration for my work through spiritual trips to the hmncosmos. These spiritual journeys take me through deep space, into deep seas, where I have the intense feeling of flying as well as deep breathing when diving. I remember these moments when I was up in the Andes and then when diving in the Caribbean.

Why a series of work? My teacher, Anibal Carreno, taught me that a series is like a conversation, a passage from one state to the other. Using a series, rather than just a solitary work, frees me from putting all of my ideas into one piece, and allows me to complete my ideas in other related pieces. It is after I complete each series that I become aware of the memories that took me to that work.  In my spiritual journey, I take memories of the people I love and admire. They are my company that relieves me from the everyday life.  For example, I realized that I traveled with the memory of Picasso in Cosmic Gardens. It is the type of shapes that I used that remind me of him. It is about breaking into pieces and then putting together as a new form with the strength of the stroke and with the vitality of the color.
