    Girls Just Want to Have Funds is a contemporary art exhibition of works by women artists, featuring a panel discussion concerning gender and representation in the visual arts and a benefit art auction. All proceeds from tickets and art sales support the Foundation’s two independent grant programs for emerging visual artists and travel grants for cancer patients.

    Bidding on artwork begins noon, Tuesday, November 16 and ends 9 pm Thursday, November 18.

    $10 suggested donation.

    Why aren‘t women artists more commercially successful and is there anything we can or should do to improve their standing?

    Panel: Christie’s International Co-Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art Amy Cappellazzo, Sculpture Center director and chief curator Mary Ceruti, Modern Painters magazine writer Sarah Douglas (moderator), and artists Marilyn Minter and Xaviera Simmons.

    Benefit Art Auction

    Thursday, November 18, 6:30pm
    $20 admission

    Over 90 donated artworks by women artists from around the world. Works will remain on exhibit at P.P.O.W. Gallery after the auction. Winning bidders may pick up their works after December 3.

    Grolsch beer, open bar, wine, Vietnamese food.
