Free Form highlights the moment that exists between structure and abstraction. The interplay of these two forms – one of regulation, the other of play is explored from the aesthetic viewpoint of four artists who also skateboard and see a connection to that in their work. The inspiration for Free Form is the moment of flight in skating when a person uses urban architecture and a physical board, wheels, trucks as the structural backbones from which to launch.
