Emily Timberlake’s paintings reflect her life’s experiences gleaned
from the unconscious. Color is of supreme importance to her work, as is
spontaneity. By applying thick slabs of acrylic or thin washes of
watercolor, her intention is to penetrate the numbing barriers society
erects; To stir the viewer into an awareness of their being and to an
awareness of the present.Emily Timberlake was born in Mexico
and has lived in South America, Europe, Asia and the U.S. She has a BA
in Art History from Tulane University and has studied at The Art
Student’s League with William Scharf and Anthony Palumbo. Emily lives
and paints in Brooklyn. Her work has been shown in the NY area and is
included in many private collections.
