I have been painting for 38 years in Alaska. When I started, I committed myself to draw from any source I found interesting, to avoid being locked into a specific style and to have the freedom to pursue my desires. This has led me to explore the old masters as well as the ancient masters of Northwest Coast and Alaskan art. The inspiration for the European surrealists is alive in my own backyard. I work and live with one foot in the forest primeval, and the other in the computer age, a good balance.
