It is my aim to create in works on paper or on canvas, landscapes in which the experience of space and the influence and force of the elements on each other, take a central place. The vague line between air and earth, water and clouds and the strength they involve, fascinates me.
I am impressed and motivated by the words of the Roman philosopher Lucretius: ‘In reality nothing else exists but space (…) earth and air are really related, since early days as one unity’.
