I am fascinated by the abstract nature of emotion. In an attempt to explore, capture, and understand its existence I encourage each of my paintings to tell a story about the creation of personal emotional identity. My abstract works reference the intangible concept of human sentiment and formative emotional experience.

Using landscape as a metaphor for spiritual space, I endeavor to embody ambiguous and undefined places where the mind can wander freely to contemplate and respond to the relationships and stories between representational elements; and to discover and absorb the emotions contained therein.

For me there is no greater truth in life than to explore, investigate, and create artwork born from personal, emotional responses to the everyday and the extraordinary, the real and the ephemeral. I strive to paint that which cannot be seen by others, that uniqueness of feeling, which I know belongs only to me.
