The play of light visible behind a transparent surface is a theme that runs through all of my work. I paint Hudson River landscapes using layers of paint and resin; my paintings are as much about transformation, evolution and juxtaposition as they are about finding small hidden moments. I love texture and rich patinas that give a variation to the surface. Each layer brings you closer to the past, a sort of archaeology of brushstrokes.
