Utilizing an extensive range of materials, styles and colors to
communicate her thoughts and ideas, Cariya’s art spans a wide genre,
crossing artistic boundaries and their limitations. Influenced by
research on a broad range of artistic movements and schools, especially
of the last century, she has reinterpreted the influences of these
movements in her unique contemporary styles of painting. Her work
therefore wants to be understood as a ‘post-historical’ style of
painting (a term coined by the famous art historian Arthur Danto).
