Multimedia conceptual artist Anita Sto have been engaged in a one-year performance piece, since November 11th 2010. Her piece mainly consists of avoiding her own reflection in any kind of mirror and/or reflective surfaces. Along the 365 days the artist initiated a fundraising campaign to support her work and the projected exhibition. Based on a concept by Anita Sto and curated by Whitney V. Hunter with the support of The Invisible Dog Art Center, the performance piece will culminate in an exhibition in a New York gallery with a target date of December 2011.
The Broadway Gallery will host a benefit exhibition of the artist’s latest works. This will offer invited guests and the general public an opportunity to meet the artist in person and see and purchase her most recent created works. Further, the benefit exhibition is a unique opportunity to support the One Year Without Mirrors performance. The revenue generated from the purchase of pieces will go directly to the realization of the exhibition.
