The video installation by Magdalena Fernández reinterprets the Metaesquemas series of Hélio Oiticica to perform a reflection about the elements and mechanisms that transform our experience of space: light, color, and movement. Through the projection, in different areas of an enclosed space (including the floor), the “metaesquemas” are recreated from colored geometric shapes in some videos, always unpredictable, the formal structure of space changing, dissolving the distance and coordinates of the benchmarks.

The encounters and the various projections of an infinite set of permutations challenge the physical boundaries of space—unlimited, formal, visual, and perceptive. These forms of color moving in the space radicalize those concerns by opening up to the formulation of a painting that is done beyond the operating table, and then create a situation for their own reasons poetize, to patent the game of intuition and sensuous gestures that constitute it.
