Votla 2013 kicked off yesterday. NY Arts checked it out. The show was slick, intense and wide ranging. It may be Volta’s best year yet. Kadar Brock had some new, interesting works on view with Vigo/The Hole. For painting, Envoy Enterprises Winston Chmielinski and Clint Jukkala stole the show. Other highlights were the scary and humourous installations of Mark Jenkins at NOW. And Halsey McKay had a speical project of David Kennedy Cutler whose iridescent scultpures flanked the balcony hallway of the first floor. A photo roll follows.
