"I want to re-invent myself. In my work I express, through complex processes often unknown to myself, ideas about my identity. problems arise from the fact that in many cases my identity has been ‘made’ for me. presenting myself as various mutable entities resists categorisation: personally, politically and historically."
"…when you talk about colour and south africa as a context, you are generally talking about race. But when I use my body, I am particular, gendered individual, and in that sense, there is a multiplicity of identities that’s being explored within the work."
