32-year-old Cuban-American photographer Baldomero Fernandez first began taking pictures at age 14, while growing up in Miami, FL. Graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1996 and moved to New York City and became an assistant. |
He is now shooting for a growing list of editorial clients including
Details, Flaunt, Life, Oyster, The New Yorker, Tokion and Vanity Fair.
Some of his advertising clients include: Ann Taylor Stores, California
Closets, Columbia Records, Macy’s, Ogilvy & Mather, Sigrid Olsen
and Wieden Kennedy 12. His work has also been published in American
Photography15-21. In April 2003, he had his first one man show at
Goatsilk Gallery in Missoula, MT, entitled "Space Vacancy", which
included large format prints of his landscapes and interiors. In 2004
he was honored by MTV, winning a Public Service Announcement contest
with a spot encouraging voter participation. In 2005 he received the
Communication Arts Magazine Editorial Award of Excellence for his work
done in Cuba and also The Workshops 2005 Golden Light Award. In 2006 he
was named a finalist in the Santa Fe Center for Photography project
competition.
