    Each artist will showcase innovative and site-specific works responding to concepts of flight, transition, movement and the atmosphere.     As part of a larger art strategy delivered by UAP for the Airport Village precinct, Art With Altitude was co-curated by UAP Curator, Natasha Smith and Brisbane-based Artist and Curator, Megan Cope.

    Art With Altitude

     

    Presented by Urban Art Projects, this latest addition to the Brisbane annual Arts calendar will feature temporary art installations created by local and interstate emerging and established artists. Each artist will showcase innovative and site-specific works responding to concepts of flight, transition, movement and the atmosphere.

    Artists participating in the event include Nichole Voevodin-Cash, Keg de Souza, Sue-Ching Lascelles, Michael Candy, Inkahoots and Girringun Aboriginal Arts Centre.

    As part of a larger art strategy delivered by UAP for the Airport Village precinct, Art With Altitude was co-curated by UAP Curator, Natasha Smith and Brisbane-based Artist and Curator, Megan Cope. Natasha and Megan collaborated on delivering a diverse and highly engaging selection of artworks.

    “We are pleased to have a wide range of interactive works for the inaugural event that will delight visitors to the precinct and encourage them to stay, explore, be delighted by and to physically engage with,” they said.

    UAP has a strong understanding of the Brisbane Airport Corporation’s (BAC) vision having recently managed the delivery of numerous significant public art commissions for the precinct by Dennis Nona, Lena Yarinkura,
    Belinda Smith, Gemma Smith and John Nicholson, as well as the kinetic art facade for the Domestic Terminal car park by Ned Kahn.

    Urban Art Projects curated the inaugural “Art With Altitude” event to be held at Airport Village, Brisbane Airport from August 24, through to September 2, 2012.
