Yassin creates photographic composites, drawings and installations that at once embrace and question the transcendent belief in abstraction. Photographs of architectural subjects are multiplied to form intricate patterns referencing Islamic ornamentation, Buddhist mandalas, and gothic stained glass. Simple line drawings suggest impossible complex, minimalist structures. And architectural installations utilize mirrors, video and sound to incorporate the viewer with mesmerizing effect.
