Born in Boston, MA Nancy Simonds is respected widely for her
large-scale abstract works on paper. In her Block Stack series
different arrangements of blocks and luxuriant colors create a mood of
reflection, calm, and resolution, each an antidote to chaos, disorder
and menace. Simonds is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Smith College. She has shown at Wheelock College, Smith College, Butler Institute of American Art, Boston University. Her work is in many private and public collections: Fidelity Investments, Harvard Law School, Bank of America to name a few.
