My paintings investigate the relationships between the artist, the
viewer, and the subject matter.  I challenge the viewer to create his
or her own cognitive response by using a series of different pictorial
devices.  By employing a visual syntax to these images, I’m able to use
allegory and metaphor to ask questions of the viewer.  These questions
demand an ingrained response; be it emotive, contemplative, or comical.
The ambiguity of my work invites multiple interpretations, however,
most ideas revolve around issues that surround my life.
